[Distraction Charters]

As many of you know, Amberjack are one of the hardest fighting fish in the Gulf of Mexico. We are starting to see an increase in the number of AJ's on reefs off of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, Al. There are a lot of smaller jacks located on the large public reefs. Legal jacks (28"fl) have been hard to come by without going 50+ miles offshore and fishing large structures such as oil rigs in the past few years (post Ivan and Katrina). We have had some success this year so far by fishing some of our private reefs that are large in nature and have been known to have a lot of small baitfish already on them. Saturday, May 17, 2008 was no different. We caught a couple of nice AJ's before the dolphin showed up and scattered them and shut the bite down. Oh well, thats just fishing. Our customers sure enjoyed watching the dolphin play. We just stopped fishing and let the fishermen get their cameras and get a few photos. Kids of all ages including adults sure enjoy watching dolphin play. We ended up heading out to a little deeper water and fished for grouper. We had a great day. http://distractioncharters.com

We are taking a 2 day trip on Sept. 20 & 21, 2008 and need 3 more fishermen/women to make the trip. We will bottom fish on the way out for trigger fish, vermilion snapper, maybe grouper & scamp, then try for amberjack before heading on about 80 miles total offshore for the tunas, wahoo, dolphin (mahi mahi), blue marlin and swordfish.
