  • Catch Bigger Fish In Heavy Structure-No Hang Up

This is the most effective fishing method Iíve found for fishing in the thick of submerged wrecks, pilings, rock piles, and jetties, etc. without hang up. I use 6/20 braided line on the reel and to the end of the braid I tie a 6 ft. 20 lb fluorocarbon leader. At the end of the 20 lb. leader I tie a very small snap swivel, the type that has no protruding clips (see photo). To this swivel, I attach a 10 lb. fluorocarbon line by way of an overhand loop knot; leader length of about 2 -2 1/2 ft with the Owner Twistlock 1/16 oz. 3/0 weedless hook and gulp on the tag end as seen in the video. The cork is clipped to the 20 lb leader according to your preferred depth. In the rare event that a hang up occurs, you can break the 10 lb line and save everything above the swivel. Iíve caught the largest of fish inside these type structures while others cannot fish them conventional style.
