Striped bass fishing around Block Island waters is improving daily. There are plenty of schoolie action with fish 12-25", and fish are starting to show up that are in the 25-30 lb. range too. Fluke fishing is still more of a catch and release fishery. There are still many fish in the 12-16" size being caught and released in order to catch a fluke over 17 1/2" that is legal. Every day the ratio of small fish to large fish is getting better. It is now about 1 keeper to every 7 shorts caught. Hopefully things will keep improving as the water warms and the fish move in.
