BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE BILOXI MARSH. Had the pleasure of fishing today with long time friend Mike Voight and his partner from Ca, Joseph Courtois. They own Lafites Guest House in the French Quarter. It was Joes first trip and it surely won’t be his last. We went out and jumped on the Speckled trout limiting out with 75. We didn’t keep anything under 13 and we had a bunch of pretty fish. W e also had 25 white trout d in the box. They wanted to catch reds, made a few moves and got on a good redfish bite catching their limit of 10 reds, 1 head and 1 flounder. The reds were 3-10 pds and were a blast to catch in that shallow water. All the fish were caught on Campos live shrimp and a popping cork. The marsh is on fire right now. If anyone wants to get in on a great fishing trip call us. Come down and be treated like a king while you fish with the king. Check out the picture of this trip and all the trips for the last few months. We don’t just tell you about our trips we show you the fish every day. We have dates open in November and Dec. with boats available every day. Charter info. 504-881-9966 or 504-887-4960
Not so thrilled to report that I haven’t been well for a while, but I am happy to report that the Ole Man’s back and I’m planning on giving you a lot of great fishing information
Fishing is at its best right now. There will be NE winds through Monday. I recommend fishing Yellow Cotton Bay, and you’ll want to have lee shore. Your best bet is to use the Speculizer under the cork, and work the birds for the best results.
The coordinates for Yellow Cotton Bay are:
029° 19.139 N, 089° 27.325’W
029° 19.539 N, 089° 26.138’W
029° 18.272N, 089° 24.071’W
The Speckled Trout are ganged up in Lake Salvador. You’ll have to pick your winds. Next report, we will have GPS coordinates for Lake Salvador.
Hope you all have been enjoying this beautiful weather and catching lots of fish… it’s good to be back.

Al Godwin had his friends from Steve Gabbard and Mike Johnson from Kentucky down for a two day GRAND SLAM FISHING TRIP in Hopedale Louisiana
.
Day one: was Speckled trout day and the guys put some fish in the boat only a few short of the limit. Left the trout to try the reds Steve and Mike had never caught any saltwater fish before and had seen red fishing on TV and really wanted to experience it. Got into some reds and drums fishing deep with Mike catching the big BULL RED of the day.
65 TROUT
3 REDS
10 DRUMS
Day Two: Got a few trout in the box then it was on the hunt for redfish. Shrimp under corks working the grassy points did the trick. The guy’s had a balst with REEL MUSIC drags ripping. Finished up the day with another box full of fish. TWO AWESOME TRIPS Mike and Steve are GUT HOOKED NOW!
SHELL BEACH, LA. REPORT 10/31....Beautiful morning in the Biloxi Marsh as Kelly and Hal from Ms. joined me for a trout slam. While heading through the marsh twisting and turning toward our fishing area I came around a point in a lagoon and about 50 yards in front of the boat there was trout jumping out of the water. I pulled the 250 Yam down and got a good look and the action was wild as the trout were hitting schools pot belly minnoes and knocking them out of the water. The hard incoming above normal tide had flushed them out of the marsh and the specks were having a banquet. I pulled within casting distance and threw out the mud poles and Kelly and Hal grabbed their rods and commenced to start putting trout in the box. This went on until the tide swept the monnoes further away, so up went the poles and we followed after them and again we got into them and look out the trout were coming in the boat again. This continued until we limited out and the guys were ready to head for the beach so I could clean them up for their trip home. The guys had a great time and really kept busy pulling them in and are coming back in a few weeks for another round. Great fun with two really great guys. ANOTHER GREAT DAY IN THE BLAZER BAY.
FINAL COUNT....75 SPECKS.....1 REDFISH
MARSH MASTER RODS, ABU REELS, H&H TACKLE AND CAMPO'S LIVE SHRIMP REELED THEM IN AGAIN.
Great fishing Sunday on the Beach. John Coleman, Rob Joiner, and Mark Archer were my guests for the day. Once again the wind had been howling all night and into the morning. Good thing was that the NE wind brought in lots of water to the marsh. With the high water I wanted to try out an area on the Delacroix side that I have not been to in a while. The tide was still coming in and the water looked good. We made 2 stops fishing with Campo?s live shrimp under a cork and filled the boat with our limits of nice Trout. We made a move to the shore of a close by lagoon to look for some Reds. Here the guys had a blast picked up 8 nice Reds. The weather was great, the fishing good, and the company was a lot of fun. What more could you ask for? Total catch for the day was 100 Trout, 8 Reds, and 6 Sheepshead.
The Trout have moved inside and are eating up. Come on down and see what a great fishery we have in the Shell Beach area. Be sure stop by Campo?s for their friendly service, world famous live shrimp, ice, fuel, and launch. If you want to get in on some of the best fishing to be found give us a call. Check out the photos of the fish our guests have been catching. For charter info call (504)-881-9966 or (504)-887-4960.
Fun Saturday on the Beach. Onboard was Steven Spears, his two kids Mattie and Patrick. With Steve?s friend Pat joining them. The group was fishing the Boat Stuff Rodeo out of BSM. It was cold and the wind was blowing hard as we headed down the bayou to Campo?s where we picked up bait. The tide was falling hard and we found some birds diving were water was pouring out of the marsh. Fishing with Campo?s live shrimp under a cork they were catching some good Trout. The bite did not last for long so we moved into a close by bayou. Here we fished on the bottom with live shrimp on a Carolina rig and got on a good Trout bite. With a nice pile of fish in the boat we left them biting. They were ready to head on in to warm up and weigh in their fish. They had a great time and caught 60 Trout, 2 Drum, 4 Sheepshead, and 1 Flounder.
The fishing in Shell Beach on fire and it will only get hotter in the coming weeks. Give me a call if you want to get in on some fall fishing fun. Call United Charters now for your next fishing adventure 504-439-1680.
SHELL BEACH, LA. REPORT 10/28......George, Perry & Mike joined me yesterday morning for a windy start to a beautiful day in the Biloxi Marsh. Stopped by Campo's and picked up some of their world famous "catch fish or die trying" live shrimp and some good conversation to boot with Robbie and F.J. and after filling the well we headed for the marsh with trout and reds on our minds. Mike was in town for a few days and wanted to get a fishing trip in with his dad and brother and this was the day. We caught the end of the rising tide and it was slow going until it started to fall then the trout got active. They were throwing live shrimp 2 ft. under a rattling cork and were getting hits almost every cast with a few throwbacks but the action was the key as they were having a ball reeling them in. When they got their fill if trout we headed for some ponds and some "Cajun Bonefish" action. We pulled into a small pond with clear water and they casted to the grassline with the shrimp and after a few minutes the cork on Mikes rod slowly went down and as he set the hook the fight was on, it was a big red and it was angry as it broke water several times and made a few circles around the boat but Mike did a great job and I netted the fish and broke out the digital scale and the red weighed 14.2 lbs. He said it was his biggest red to date and he was a happy camper. The guys landed 5 more from 5 to 8 lbs. and by this time they were ready to head for the "Beach" and relax while cleaned the fish for their trip home. ANOTHER GREAT DAY IN THE BLAZER BAY.
DAYS TOTAL....61 TROUT 6 REDFISH
MARSH MASTER RODS, ABU REELS, H&H TACKLE & CAMPO'S LIVE SHRIMP HAULED THEM IN AGAIN.
Saturday morning I decided to head out by myself to check out One Pint of Fuel Lake out of Pip’s Place to see if the trout started biting there yet. It was a pretty day but the winds were relentless and finding clean water was a challenge. The tide was on a fall most of the day and where clean water was found it was stained. I first started in a back lagoon behind Hopedale Lagoon and caught a doormat-sized flounder and one speck before moving to another nearby lagoon and found trout obliging but there were more throw-backs than keepers. I used New Penny Berkley Gulps in the 3 inch size fished with ¼ oz screw jig head with a clicking cork but found that the bigger trout wanted the Bayou Chub minnow (avocado/red flick/chart tail) with 1/8 oz screw jig head fished bellow the Cajun Rattle cork. I concluded the trip around 12:30 pm as the fishing slowed to a halt and caught 25-28 specks keeping 15 nice ones and a flounder. In the back lagoons that morning I found large redfish feeding along the grass ditches but could not get them to take the Red Fish Magic spinner bait/purple cocahoe/chart tail I used. I had a hard time using the trolling motor to position a stealthy entrance each time because the wind was blowing too hard on the windward side of which they seemed to be feeding the best.
FUN FUN FUN @THE BEACH!!!!!! Had the pleasure of fishing today with Will Pat, and Jeff. The guys came in last night from Baton Rouge and we got an early start this morning. The weather finally gave us a break today with the strong winds calming down. The tide was still very low and falling at the dock. We made a few move in the marsh and got on 2 good trout bites. We ended the day limiting out with 100 speckled trout, 21 sheepshead and one 27 inch red. All the fish were caught on Campo’s live shrimp and a popping cork. The live shrimp or beautiful right now. The fish are eating up and going to get better if that is possible. Just look at the dock shots we post every day. We fish; we take a picture and show you our groups catch. We have openings in November if anyone wants to get on some outstanding fishing. We have boats available and are ready when you are. Over night accommodations and multi boat charters available. For charter info call 504-881-9966 or 504-887-4960
Cold morning this morning first one this season and super low winter tide. Charlie, Dave, and Bradley showed up wearing jackets and kept them on all morning with the breezy conditions keeping it chilly. First time I have seen mud on the banks in a while. It took a while to find the trout with the drastic conditions change and the bite was slow but steady. We had to drift and troll to find the trout with the low tide they were about 50 yds off the banks. Once you caught one or two you had to anchor up and fish live shrimp 2 ft deep and wait out the bite. With the dirty water it took the trout a while to find the bait but we would catch a fish every few minutes or so slowly building a box. What was nice was the trout were nice sized with a few up to 3 lbs. By late morning the guy’s had there limit on ice and were ready to head to the house. Big Plus was we got to witness the first flight of ducks into our area with flocks of Gadwalls and Teal dropping out the clouds and settling into the marsh an AWESOME SIGHT. It had my trigger finger itching with duck season only a few weeks away. Can’t wait to Nov. 10th.
