FUN DAY AT THE BEACH!! Had the pleasure of fishing today with Chris, Jeff, Lawrence and his brother David. My brother Harry also jumped on with us. On the way out this morning they had light thunder and rain in the area, the wind was blowing 15 mph out the west. I didn’t like the looks of it and stopped on the way out to see what the weather was going to do. They was a good move, we put 60 trout in the boat fast. The wind layed down about 9 am and I headed out to the sound. We put 10 fish in the boat quick and they shut off like a light switch. With the weather building on the horizon we decided to head back to the leeshore line. When we were about a half mile out the temperature dropped about 10 degrees, the wind picked up to 20. After it blew over we got on another good trout bite catching their limit of 125 speckled trout. We also had 1 red, 10 heads and one 40 pd drum that we turned loose. The guys were a lot of fun to fish with. Good time at the office today. Capt Rory fished with me. He went out this morning and when I talked to him he said it was choppy and only had a few fish so he was heading to the area that I was fishing. He was on good trout bite when I talked to him. HOT DAY AT THE BEACH!! Had the pleasure with Don Denham, Sam, and Frank. The guys came in town from Montgomery Al for 2 days of fishing. We got on a good trout bite this morning; The fish were in the 2-4 lbs range and eating good. Put 40 in the boat and then like someone turned off a light switch they turned off. Rory Mark and I all fished again today. We each went in a different area. I met Mark at the rocks and we split up again. He got on a god trout bite and called me over. Capt Kerry was also in the area and on a good bite. Capt Mark fished with the Brennan family. Both boats limited out on speckled trout. They were eating Campos live shrimp as fast as you could get them in the water. Mark and I had a t5otal of 225 trout. We left Capt. Rory on the fish and went for the lodge. Talk about a hot day. Bring plenty water sun screen and a hat. The heat is brutal in the middle of the day. We are back at it tomorrow and will post a report.

HAMMER TIME!!!!!!! Had the pleasure of fishing today with good friend Edward Gibson and his friend Dan Kitchens. Dan is in town from Jackson Ms area. We made a one stop shop and limited out on BIG TROUT. . The guys book number 100 in the boat by 8:30. We did not have one trout less than 18 inches. We also landed 1 red fish and I broke some real big ones off so they would not run through this beautiful school of trout we were catching. Talk about a fun day. I talked to Rory and Mark, they fished with me today. They were both on out standing trout bites this morning. We will let you know how they did when they return. We have a few dates open this week if any one wants to get in on the bite. The fishing is HOT HOT HOT!!!!!!

Hopedale MRGO Early Hit
Today Brandon and I left out of Hopedale to get an early start on fishing the MRGO under perfect weather conditions – baring the heat-- with a good incoming tide. An unbelievable amount of fishing boats and oil-spill workers were on the road delaying the launching-- beside the free fishing week – it was a fiasco to say the least. We started fishing with white 3 inch Berkley Gulps under clicking corks tipped with fresh shrimp snippets. Action started fast but ended as the morning approached 10 am. Boats lined the rocks as far as the eye could see and left as fast as they came when the fishing slowed downed. It looked like a Mardi Gras line up. As unusual, plenty throw-back trout. Brandon had a great trip, catching trout as a pro. When the rock fishing slowed, we fished Bay Eloi and saw many dive-bombing birds eating up shrimp escaping hungry undersized-speckled trout jaws. Action was not as good as last week, but we managed to put together enough fish for a small fish fry. We headed in early before the crowd made it back to the launch and turned it into another fiasco.

CATCH EM UP IN THE SOUND!! Day 2 for the Zachry Group is about as good as it gets. In my boat were Dan, Bob, and Stan. Talk about beautiful fish. Our first stop in the new opened area we got on a good trout bite. We put 60 trout in the boat in the 2-4 lb range with a few reds. Fish were slamming Campo’s live shrimp today. When the bite stopped, we made another couple of moves and got on another outstanding trout bite. Solid 3-4 lbs 20 inch trout. These fish were caught on ½ ounce sinker Carolina rigged. We also caught a 40 lb drum we kept and a few big reds. Fort Beauregard had its annual rodeo today so we will let you know how we come out. Capt Ronnie, Mark and Rick also fished with me today. I will put a final report on later when the guys get back. Check out the pictures and give us a call to get on the calendar. We are so very fortunate to be fishing right now. They just opened up 15 miles of Breton Sound and the hog trout have not been fed in awhile. If you want to learn a new area we can show you more in one day then you can learn in 10 days on your own.

Fished with Tim Barras again today, he had Carl & Jordan Ardoin with him. It only took a couple stops to fill the BOX up to the top. We had SOLID trout in the 3+ pound range at our first two stops, with reds, drum, and bay snapper mixed in. The guys were throwing the 'Delacroix special' (shrimp under a cork), while I stuck with the Salt Water Tackle Holographic minnows all day. I believe I finally convinced Tim to switch near the end of the day as I was reeling in trout or getting hit almost every cast. Extremely HOT out there on the water, make sure you stay hydrated!! Great time as usual guys, THANKS AGAIN. I had two incredible days fishing Delacroix, it brought back some great memories from 'back in the day'!!!! Looking forward to getting back 'Down to Dularge' as I heard many great reports from today.

Great time this morning reeling in the HAWGZ!!!! Travis Miller, and Chris Venable joined me today for some great action catching 2-4 pound trout all on plastics. Slick calm seas and pretty green water with no oil in sight. We left the water smoking around 8:30. Plenty more big trout to be caught, so dont be left at the dock. Call now while the waters are still open. Enjoyed the day with you guys. HUGE thanks to Chris for the great hospitality and set up!!! Looking forward to a repeat tomorrow.
A cancellation and good weather and tide sent me on my way today solo. No problem, was able to knock out fish without any assistance. Plenty boats on the water, however, and all were catching fish-- at least those near me. No use in bragging then... Using Berkley Gulp white and New Penney on clicking cork with shrimp snipits ( fresh shrimp clipped in small pieces with scissors for keeping the shell in tact on the hook) I managed to limit out before 10 am on specs. Mixed catch included white trout and one giant sheepshead. I threw back 15 undersized specs and have to admit that I got into a good bite under dive-bombing seagulls again with keeper trout. It helped me get a head start on the trout limit before they petered out around 10 AM. Left the area around 10:30 am and got checked by the LWDF, but all was in compliance. Make sure you have registration with you not to mention all else.
QUEEN PAULA STRIKES AGAIN!!!!!!! Had the pleasure of fishing today with good friends Paula her humbled servant Glenn, along with John and his son Chris. John and his son Chris. John and Chris are in town from AL. We had a one stop shop today. We limited out catching 125 pretty speckled trout by 8:30 am . The fish were eating up anyway you cast any direction. Talk about a fun morning. We also had 2 reds, 1 head and 1 puppy drum. Real pretty box of fish. The fishing was so good today Glen and Paul are staying over an extra day. I have a 2 party trip tomorrow and they are going to jump on with us. Hopefully we will have a repeat of todays action. THAT WILL BE HARD TO BEAT .

Big Stan Easly and son Chad in on leave from Iraq along with friends Jermy, Dave and His son Cade had one thing on their mind, REDFISH! At that is what they caught. Stan set up the trip and called me to ask if we could fit in a 5th person 10yr old Cade I said no problem if it means getting a young one out fishing we will make it happen. Boy did it happen. Cade was a machine he caught the first fish the biggest fish and a tagged redfish all on the first stop he had a blast all day we all did. It was great day fishing for redfish in Hopedale good weather and the fish were biting . The box was full to the top well before noon and we called it a day. It was my honor to have a USA soldier on the boat the day after Memorial Day thanks Chad for all that you and all our troops do! I salute you.
