Good morning from the Speckled trout capital of the world. Hackberry Rod & Gun. As we       continue to put the finishing touches on the drawings for the new lodge the fishing remains good. Here is a picture of a 7-pound speckled trout caught and released this past Sunday by Will Drost. This time of the year the BIG GIRLS are out there for the fisherman with some time to spend on the water. We can lodge you at three different venues so you can make the short drive to fish each day. We have boats available now so call us toll free at 1.888.762.3391 and ask Pauline or Michelle to check availability for you. If you missed Captain Kirk at the San Antonio boat show this past weekend and did not get your FISHING SPECIAL trip booked not to worry we will ALL be at the HOUSTON FISHING SHOW AT George R. Brown center March 1st thru 5th . In booths 626 & 628. :-) Stay tuned right here for a SPECIAL FREE VIP TICKET to this event compliments of HR&G. This announcement will be next Monday on this update. Reconstruction is 99% complete on the dinning room and kitchen and we will be starting on the office and gift shop this week. Site work continues to take priority for the main lodge and we should be pouring concrete very soon. Here is a picture I took this morning with the morning sun shinning through the east windows. Have a GREAT WEEK and remember “YA SHOULDA BEEN HERE YESTERDAY” Stupid fish story of the week: Two fish swim into a concrete wall. The one turns to the other and says, "Dam!" New Year brings new species and application revisions for La. State Fish Records If Morone mississippiensis and Thunnus obesus don’t ring a bell right off hand, it’s of no surprise unless you are a fisheries biologist or a stickler for knowing the scientific names of Louisiana gamefish. Now on the other hand, if you are an avid freshwater angler you are probably familiar with the Yellow Bass (Morone mississippiensis), a game panfish, popular in some areas. If you are an avid deep-water angler you are likely to have run across a Big-Eye Tuna (Thunnus obesus) along with its cousins, the Blue, Black and Yellowfin Tuna. The Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association (LOWA) Fish Records Committee recently added these two species at its fall board meeting to the list of species eligible for entry into the Louisiana State Fish Record. As of 2/1/06 applications will be accepted for these two new species. Each year the LOWA Fish Records Committee selects a new species in both the freshwater and saltwater divisions for addition to the records. This process was introduced in 2004 after numerous requests by anglers to add species to the records list. Some of the criteria for selection include gamefish status, species being specifically targeted rather than just by-catch, along with many other considerations. Anglers interested in submitting a new species for consideration may do so by writing to the Fish Records Committee at the address listed with this release or by email to fishrecords@yahoo.com. LOWA’s Fish Records Committee also announced major revisions to the present rod and reel, as well as fly fishing applications. Multiple length and girth measurements are no longer required, however greater detail is now required in filing applications in a timely manner as well as providing more personal information in the form of email addresses and permission to use digital photos for electronic publication. Hard copies of photos or digital printouts will be required to be sent with the application along with an email sent jpeg file picture of the angler with equipment used AND the fish to fishrecords@yahoo.com. If computer access is unavailable, hardcopy prints of the angler, equipment used and catch can be substituted for digital print files, but must be mailed with application, however digital print files are preferred. Another change is that the applicant will be required to submit the new check off rules page along with the information section of the application. The new applications will be available mid-February 2006. Applications for both rod and reel as well as fly fishing will be downloadable from the LOWA site: laoutdoorwriters.com. and only from this site. Old applications prior to 2006 will be accepted for a limited period. The Louisiana Outdoor Writers Association (LOWA) is a non-profit organization of professional outdoor writers and journalists following the principles of educating the citizens of Louisiana about preservation and conservation of our states natural resources. LOWA has been the official curator of the Louisiana State Fish Records since the 1940’s. Interested individuals should contact LOWA through its website: www.laoutdoorwriters.com.

For those who would like to help the people who were impacted by hurricane "Katrina", you might want to read this letter that I sent to someone who was wanting to do just that. If your intrested in helping with this project, please email me and let me know. THE LETTER I WROTE: Hi Ron, Do you still feel like helping our small little community? When all this happened and you wrote to us asking what could you do for our little town, I couldn't think of anything at the time. We were all in limbo over FEMA trailers and what everybody as a group needed. But now I'm clear on what is need in our little community. FEMA trailers and most travel trailers don't have washer and dryers in them. Since the devastation affected such a large area, the people in our community have to drive over an hour to reach a Laundromat and then drive over an hour to get back home. My plan is to raise enough money to purchase a small portable building and a couple of washer and dryers to place inside of it. This is the one thing that will benefit our whole community and I want it to be a place where they can wash their clothes for free (if I can work out something with the parish on the electric). I have just started with trying to raise this money and have placed a few things that I have found in the marsh on eBay to help with this project. This weekend I will try to find more items in the marsh that survived hurricane "Katrina" and place them on eBay too. Every weekend I will try to comb the marsh for more items. Our community now has about 20 to 25 FEMA trailers in it and several families that couldn't wait for FEMA bought travel trailers. Others who don't have FEMA trailers and can't afford a travel trailer are sleeping in tents. I don't know how those in tents can do it since Hopedale is mosquito city and now lately it has been bad with the gnats. Oh, and we do have the families that are sleeping on their oyster boats, that is, the boats that managed to survive the storm. The cabins are not that big on these boats since they have mostly deck space for the oystering. The cabins on the boats are probably 8'x8' and have just enough room to turn from the stove to the bunk beds. Really they are not made to house people. It's just for relaxing for a minute on the water in between their pulls. If you still would like to help us, please let me know. We have a Home Depot that has opened up close and a Lowe's that is a few towns away that we could get to. I say this so that if you raise enough money for a washer, dryer or portable building, you can just call them up and either order it for our community or send a gift card from one of these stores and I can purchase it here. I just want simple washing machines and simple dryers, nothing fancy but they do need to be the largest capacity possible. Thanks so much for your time! Sincerely, Alysha www.louisiana-fishing-expeditions.com P.S. For Christmas we had a few people who stayed in Hopedale so I went to the Dollar Tree (everything a $1 store) and bought coffee mugs, then put in Hershey Kisses with almonds and a pack of hot chocolate with marshmallows and went door to door (or should I say FEMA trailer to FEMA trailer) handing it out, along with a Christmas card, to the residents who stayed behind in Hopedale for Christmas. It really made Christmas special to see that such a small gift could bring a smile to residents of Hopedale.

LIVE SHRIMP IN MID JANUARY. Breton Sound Marina still has live shrimp and ice if you guys are thinking about fishing. I had the pleasure of fishing today with John Lewis, Gordon and George. Started off in the Lake Robin area. The tide was dead low and rolling out. Water didn’t look great caught a few trout and few sheephead. Crossed over to Delacroix and the water was much improved. Had action everywhere we went today. Fishing live shrimp, salt water assasins and speculizers we filled the box up. We ended the day with 60 trout and 15 sheepshead. All the fish were caught on a cork in a 2-3 ft depth. We had lots of throwbacks today so we kept moving to put good fish in the box. I’m fishing out of other peoples boat if anyone wants to go. I also have use of a 18 ft with 90 Yamaha for those that would like to go with me. It can hold 3 people. If you have more people in your group I have use of a bigger boat. I am working on getting my boat dock up and running. I have ordered all the parts and should receive them shortly. I have a FEMA trailer on site with power and working on rebuilding the lodge. <<<<<Been lacking on my report duties..I spent the early part of the week after Christmas in the shipyard and Atlanta to watch LSU Tigers roll the Miami Hurricaines in the Peach Bowl....Darryl and Leon ran 3 trips during the weekdays before New Year's..They managed to boat at least one wahoo 40 pounds a limit of amberjack each day and blackfin tuna and yellowfin tuna of various sizes and quantities..I finally have the Albemalre and Twin vee out of the yard.. We will be running out of Pirates Cove Marina in Grand Isle for the next 3 weeks; long enough for Venice Marina to be functional again..After nearly two weeks in the yard and a brief vacation I was super anxious to get back to fishing..all the posetive reports had me foaming, especially wahoo in slicks at the Lump over the weekend..so when the weather was marginal for Monday we went to the Lump with Eddie Claycombe and his boys....real pretty blue water but no bait and no fish at WD 143..on to the Lump and a comfortable speed for a change..we were the only boat..WOW!..Made a few laps fishing over each angle of thelump and across the drop offs..not one bite..so on the the anchor..which wasnt too bad since winds laid for an hour or two to about 15 knots SW from 20 knots South..took about 45 minutes for the first bonita to show up ad then blackfin aplenty..then sharks aplenty but no yellowfin..never saw one..kept 6 blackfin and released the rest along with all the sharks..put out a spread agian and resumed trolling..hit 143, 122 and 133 and headed in..not one wahoo seen or missed..Tuesday Jan 3rd was a new day..left the dock with tuna on our minds and ended up with wahoo... alot of wahoo..they were coming in so fast we actually lost count..thought we had 10 but it was actually 14..we did release one small one and allowed two others to shake off boatside..after a little while out goes the anchor, chum and hooks at the Lump..nothing but bonita and sharks..with current running opposite the what little wind there was we broke loose and made two drifts..still no blackfin or yellowfin seen..so we bailed after an hour to go looking for grouper..hit all the same rigs as before finding sharks thick at 143, and few bites elsewhere..managed one scamp for all the work and misses..headed in a few hours early..On Jan 4th..we had hoped for things to repeat themselves and it was even better..weather was gorgeous and the fish were hungry, stupid and plentiful..we put 7 wahoo in the boat in one hour..not much happening on the chum at the Lump..a fish here and a fish there, but nothing fantastic..after beacoup sharks and 4 blackfin we picked up and put out the trolling spread..managed one lone wahoo before running off to other areas..managed to nail 6 more wahoo the last one coming off the bomb as we were picking the bait up out of the water..- 40 pound wahoo went airborne at the transom snatching the bait and making an impressive run..gaffed the fish 10 minutes later after great chase and fight ..didnt have any space in the cooler so we left early..the best wahoo of the day was pushing 80 pounds!..more fun coming this weekend after the front winds chill out and lay..bring on more wahoo, high pressure and mild indian summer ..Paradise Outfitters is OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!! 1-888-FISH-W-US (888-347-4987)

Good morning and HAPPYNEW YEAR from everyone at Hackberry Rod & Gun. As we begin the first week of 2006 the weather is warm, muggy and humid and cannot make its mind up what it want to do. On a scale of 1/10 duck hunting is a 6, goose hunting is an 8 and fishing is a 7 1/2. I thought I would throw that ½ in for the fun of it. It’s really a 7. Take a look at the attached pictures and to see more click HERE http://www.rodnreel.com/hackberryrodandgun/pictures.asp We still have some open dates for our duck hunting special and are booking spots now for the spring fishing season. I have read the article on Ship, Shape II: Boat Battery Switch, Isolators and Integrators Systems. I have a 19.5 champion fish and ski boat and have a Perko switch just like the one pictured in your article. Can you tell me how to get an instructional manual or guide on this same switch and how it functions and operates? I have this set-up with my cranking battery and my 2 trolling batteries. I just need to know how exactly this switch controls each battery. Great article, it shed alot more light on this subject. I just need more. I guess I can contact perko also for a instructional manual? I bought the boat used so there was no info., on the Perko switch. Thanks

Well last week Capt. Ben had two trips that were behind a front and on both trips, nobody caught much fish. One of the groups he took out, they only caught two sheepshead. And on the other group, they only caught 10 trout and a couple of small redfish. This weekend, the fish perked back up and on Saturday morning, his group caught their limit of Speckled Trout. He went out Saturday evening with a one man charter and again caught their limit. He said that the evening trip was the best of all because all they had to do was through their poles over and the fish would bite as soon as it hit the water. On Sunday morning he took out two people out and they limited out on trout. He said that he took them out at 6:30am and they returned at 7:30am with their 50 Speckled Trout. All the fish that were caught this weekend were caught on soft plastic lures under a cork with light tackle. As long as the weather stays good, the fishing should be good! On Friday I had the pleasure of taking Reggie Hayes and his dad Pat Hayes fishing. The guys drove down from Indiana and fished in their own boat on Thursday. We pulled out of Breton Sound Marina and made a short cold boat ride to our first stop in Bayou St Malo. The water was cold, low, and not moving much, but was very clear. We fished on top and bottom at this normally productive spot and had only 2 Trout to show for. From there we made many stops on up to Pete’s Lagoon not getting a bite. Since it looked like the Trout would not turn on we went to plan B. Lucky for me Reggie and Pat love to catch and eat Sheepshead, so I set us up in one of my favorite Goat holes. It did not take long for Pat to get the first big Goat in the boat and from there it was Goat after Goat. Before long the fish box was stuffed with nice big Sheepshead. We made a couple of more stops on the way in and still no Trout. We got back to BSM and went to work on cleaning the catch of 2 Trout and 52 big Sheepshead. The sun never did come out enough to get the water temps above 50 till very late in the day. The reports when I got back to BSM were not that good, but there were some boats that stayed out late and got on a good Trout bite in the late afternoon once things warmed up. Give it a couple of days with some sun shine and the tide range come back and the Trout will go nuts again. United we stand and United we fish Capt. Fishing in Hopedale with me today was John Fenasci, and we pulled out of the Breton Sound Marina bright and early. We made a stop in a canal not far from the marina. Fishing with Bayou Chubs on the bottom we found some really nice Trout. The action was not that fast, but fast enough to keep us interested, and the size made up for the slow bite. After putting 31 Trout from 16”-22” on ice John wanted some Sheepshead (best eating fish in the marsh). We made a stop in Middle Bayou and had a blast with big Goatheads keeping 30 of them before our arms were worn out fishing with dead shrimp on the bottom. The fishing is fantastic right now with fish all over the marsh. Give me a call if you want to get in some the hot fishing action. United we stand and United we fish Capt. Monday evening, Capt. Ben went fishing with Capt. Johnny Nunez and his friend. On Tuesday morning he took Mike and Glen fishing. Between those two trips he said the catch was 137 Speckled Trout and 2 Redfish. He said that all the fishing was done with lures (Bayou Chub Minnow) and that the clear and green ones were doing the best. Sometimes he was casting and retrieving and other times he was using it under a cork. Tuesday evening, Glen, from the Breton Sound Marina, gave two men that were looking to fish that evening, Capt. Ben's number. They called and Capt. Ben took them out. The two guys, Tom and his son Joe, went out for an evening fishing trip and they wound up catching 63 Speckled Trout and 2 Redfish. For the evening trip, Capt. Ben was used lures and live bait (which he bought from Breton Sound Marina) and fished under a cork. Capt. Ben also asked for me to remind you boaters that if you are planning on coming out this way to fish, to please wear you kill switch. He said that there are places where the mud is piled up in the middle of bayous, ect. He said the marsh has moved so much with the hurricane that you need to be real careful these days when navigating the bayous. If you don't have a boat and you want to go fishing, give Capt. Ben a call and let him take you fishing. His phone number is 985-630-2066. Sincerely, Alysha Leto (the other half) www.louisiana-fishing-expeditions.com P.S. Don't forget that if you have a boat and you want to go fishing in our neck of the woods (or should I say bayou), that Breton Sound Marina is now open for business. They have live bait, ice, gas, ect.

Jumped on the Trout in the Jump Monday. I just had to get back down to Venice one more time while Jump was hot. After putting the boat in at Venice Marina we made the short run to the Jump. Fishing with plastics on 1 ounce jig heads on the bottom we put 50 fat Trout on ice. From there we went a few miles down river and worked on the Reds. From the start it was fish after fish. We ended up with 10 keepers after catching and releasing many large Reds plus 20 White Trout and 15 Croakers. Back to Hopedale on Wednesday and I will have a report from there then. The fishing is fantastic right now with fish all over the marsh. Give me a call if you want to get in some the hot fishing action. United we stand and United we fish Capt. Late report from 12/6/05 It was cold, but the fishing was hot. JC and I decided around 10:00am to make a last minute trip so we hooked up the boat and headed on down to the Breton Sound Marina. We were greeted by Capt. Glenn and he scooped up some of the most beautiful live shrimp you would ever want to see. We made a short run over to Bayou St Marlo and it took 2 stops to find a good bite, but when we did it was on. At first we were fishing with live shrimp on the bottom and it was Sheepshead after Sheepshead, but no Trout. I did not mind since they are my favorite to eat anyway. After putting 25 of them on ice I tossed out a shrimp under a cork and a Trout ate it before the cork could even get wet. We both switched to Speculizers and the Trout were flying in the boat. In no time we filled our limits of 50 Trout and 4 nice Reds to go with them. The fishing is fantastic right now with fish all over the marsh. Okay, I know your tired of hearing it but it was LIMITS again today! Capt. Ben took Charlie (the fuel dock man) out for a fishing trip today and they caught their limit, 50 Speckled Trout. Charlie told Capt. Ben today that he's been fishing before but never caught his limit in one day and as fast as he did. Capt. Ben said that the trout ranged from 2 to 4 1/2 pounds and they were all caught on lures. The lure that was used was a Bayou Chub Minnow, color clear, using the casting and retrieving method. In addition to the trout, they caught 2 Redfish 6 to 7 pounds and one 2 1/2 pound flounder. Capt. Ben said that the fishing trips have been easy these days and that today, they left the boat dock at 8:00am and returned back at 10:00am with their limits of Trout. Also, Capt. Ben wanted me to write and thank Lou and Mike for finishing the rafters on the boat shed yesterday and to let John and Cathy know that their boat slip is ready and waiting for them. He also wanted to thank Bo and Rick David again for building back his boat deck that was destroyed from the hurricane and a thanks again to John and Cathy for cooking for they guys on Thanksgiving Day. If you want to go fishing, now's the time to get out on the water. The fish are biting, the weather is cool, and you don't have to spend all day out on the water waiting for the fish to bite. Give Capt. Ben a call (985-630-2066) and let him take you fishing while the fishin' is good. http://louisiana-fishing-expeditions.com

Limits Again Today! Today Capt. Ben took out Mr. Mike Palmer and they both caught their limit of Speckled Trout which totaled 50. All the Trout today were caught on lures using light tackle and 8lb line. Capt. Ben said that they were using Bayou Chub Minnows, green or clear (the clear ones were doing the best), and no cork and using the casting and retrieving method. He said that the Trout were ranging from 1 1/2 pounds to 3 1/2 pounds with a number of them being close to 3 pounds. The fish that they have been catching are not far from his boat dock and today they caught their limit in less than a hour. The boating activity in the water and the fishing pressure is not on them these days so fishing has been very good! If this sounds like your kind of fishing, then give Capt. Ben a call at 985-630-2066 and let him take you fishing. Sincerely, Alysha Leto (the other half) www.louisiana-fishing-expeditions.com

Good morning – What a GREAT first split of duck season. During what was suppose to be a horrible season turned out to be one of the most memorable in the history of Hackberry Rod & Gun. CHECK THIS OUT ---- in 23 days beginning November 12^th we harvested 1753 birds, which is an average of over 12 birds per blind per day. WOW !!! Here are a couple of pictures from the last week and to see more click HERE http://www.rodnreel.com/hackberryrodandgun/pictures.asp Our second (2^nd ) season will open on December 17^th and run through January 22, 2006. With the coming of colder weather, (and Santa) our 2^nd split promises to bring more ducks into our region. We have open blinds available right now. If you are interested in a gentlemen’s duck hunt (never get your feet wet) call us toll free at 1.888.762.3391 and take advantage of the $400.00 per blind special (2 hunters) meals and lodging. Call now to reserve a blind. The high winds have slowed the fishing a bit, but when the weather is right the fishing is every cast. It is not uncommon to catch limits of speckled trout and some redfish by late morning. We are also booking the NIGHT STALKER that will begin running on May 1, 2006. Last year was a banner year for the after hours guys and this year should be good also. Construction and rebuilding of the lodge is proceeding on schedule and we are booking spring fishing trips NOW. From what we hear from our local biologists the 2006 season will be very good in terms of numbers of fish. The spring fishing special for the month of April is ALREADY booking so if you want a boat let us know ASAP. Have a great week and remember “YA SHOUDA BEEN HERE YESTERDAY” Captain Buddy’s TRUE statement for the week*/: A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs. While most people were cooking Thanksgiving turkey, David Tompkins and I headed down to Point A La Hache to fish this morning. Winds were light on a sunny sky. Tide was low but moving and it didn’t take long to find the hungry specks. We caught our limit of very nice sized speckled trout on Speculizers. Most were caught First Bay and Big Oyster Bayou. Devastation at the marina was very heavy due to Katrina, with only the back-down ramp in use. Good fishin’, Jerry LaBella

Ducks and fish and shrimp WOO HOO--OK i'll settle down. Here are a few pictures from the last few days here at Hackberry Rod & Gun. It has been awesome. Limits of ducks and limits of speckled trout each day will excite any outdoorsman. DUCK HUNTING:_ The first 8 days of the season we have harvested 735 birds, which gives us an average of almost 13 ducks per blind per day. Who said this was going to be a poor season?????? We have never harvested so many greenheads this early in the season before. Now is the time to take advantage of our $400.00 special for two hunters that includes EVERYTHING. Call toll free at 1.888.762.3391 to check availability. FISHING: _We are slamming the trout under the working gulls RIGHT NOW. Someone said that Rita’s wrath deposited huge numbers of shrimp in our system and I believe it. We have seen shrimp that are 6 and 7 inches long jumping out of the water under big groups of working seagulls. It is not uncommon to see 6 or 8 sets of birds at one time. NOW is the time to be here if you want to catch trout. The attached fishing picture is of Eric and his 2 older fishing partners that caught a limit (100) of trout before 11:00 on Sunday morning. Call us toll free at 1.888.762.3391 and we will hook you up. If you go out into Lake Calcasieu on your own please be careful. We are hearing horror stories about fishermen loosing lower units and other damages from debris left over from Rita that you cannot see. I have a friend that hit a submerged 4 X 4 and it came right thru the bottom of the boat. I think we have a new reef on the south end that has been named “Trailer house” reef. Have a great week and remember “YA SHOULDA BEEN HERE YESTERDAY” SCARY THOUGHT: _We took a poll of the guides here at the lodge. 90% of them said that their lovers were also their best friends, which disturbs me when you consider man’s best friend is his dog. The same pattern continues and there are no complaints from me. With the winds diminishing by early morning, incoming tide, and warm days the redfish continue to stay put in area back lakes. They are showing us their backs and tails and can be found in great numbers. Several factors have allowed the redfish to stay, the boat traffic is light, a strong incoming tide, and small shrimp and crabs are available for the taking. This week we noticed large number of stingrays moved in the area. But, the redfish by far outnumbered the rays. The bird action has been leading us to the larger concentrations of fish. As soon as you near the diving birds you can spot redfish with their backs out of the water. Look for this pattern to continue until the arrival of the next cold front by mid week. As I have said before pay attention to what the birds are doing they can lead you to a gold mine. The baits of choice were super spook jr’s in white & chartreuse head and TTK II’s (Matagorda Magic). I also got a chance to try out my new kayaks and was glad I brought them along especially when we ran into a landmine of stingrays. I had not witnessed so many rays since I got stuck six years ago. In addition tides are starting their winter drop and fish are showing their winter shoulders. This time of year they are eager to take an easy prey as the days and nights get colder. We continue to wade wet but again we are fishing 8 to 10 inches of water. The time for wearing of waders will soon arrive and so will our methods of fishing change. As the water cools down we will be concentrating in deeper water not overlooking areas near the ICW. But look for fish to move back into the flats after 2 to 3 days of warm weather. I look forward for our winter fishing to be outstanding one. Tight Lines, Capt. Ernest Cisneros

We’re baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack !!!! I just wanted to share a couple of pictures of a great opening weekend of our 30^th duck season here at Hackberry Rod & Gun. Seven weeks ago when hurricane Rita spun through southwest Louisiana, duck season looked gloomy but with hard work and dedication we opened up Saturday morning with HUGE BANG. 20 avid duck hunters arrived Friday evening from all over the country and they weren’t disappointed. 8 of the 10 blinds harvested 18 duck limits, 1 had 17 and the last one had 5. That last blind was probably the most important one. Douglas Ladner, a young man 13 years old from Biloxi Mississippi on his first ever duck hunt shot his first duck and his having it mounted. It was a beautiful Wigeon drake and I can’t tell you how proud he was. Our inland marshes are holding a lot of ducks right now and we expect them to stick around. We have acquired some additional inland marsh here in hackberry for the ducks season and it has been very productive. Hurricane Rita also went south with our lodging so as you might have heard we have made an agreement with L'auberge du Lac hotel & casino in Lake Charles to accommodate our hunters and fishermen. The new 700 million dollar hotel has all the amenities that you would expect from a five star hotel. Best of all your room and buffet meal are included in the price of your trip. There have been HUGE pods of working sea gulls in the lake for the past 3 weeks pointing a beak to the speckled trout <http://www.rodnreel.com/gulffish/gulffish.asp?cmd=view&FishID=77> and redfish <http://www.rodnreel.com/gulffish/gulffish.asp?cmd=view&FishID=34>. The fishing slowed a bit on Friday due to a weather change but the fish are still there. Prior to Friday we were catching limits of speckled trout sometimes by 10:00a.m.If you have an interest give us a call at 1.337.762.3391 and let’s get you hooked up. We have both hunting and fishing trips available right now for the rest of the season. _Captain Buddy’s thought for the week:_ A woman has the last word in any argument. Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument. Have a great week and remember- “YA SHOULDA BEEN HERE YESTERDAY” Captain Buddy Oakes 485 Lake Breeze Rd. Interested in a small intergrator and isolator system. Would only need a 50Amp model if available. Plan on dual batteries on a scooter w/ a 33Amp alternator on board. It has aux. lights, horns, and sound system. Do they make 50 amp systems? If, not what is the smallest dimension of the smallest available system? I don't have much space to install they second battery and intergrator/isolator system. Please, advise.

Good morning from the outdoors capital of the world, Hackberry Rod & Gun. The weather is great the fish are biting and our Hackberry marsh is FULL OF DUCKS. We have FIVE (5) open blinds for opening weekend of duck season (November 12^th & 13^th .) Right now we have lots of ducks in the marsh and opening weekend is the BEST time to get your limit. Call 337-762-3391 and we will get you a spot reserved. You will be very excited about our special lodging. We have made a special arrangement with the new Lauberge du Lac Hotel & Casino in Lake Charles for lodging and meals at no extra cost. Fishing has been very good since the hurricane and we are catching good numbers of speckled trout under diving seagulls. If you don’t want to drive in the new Lauberge du Lac Hotel lodging is also available at no extra cost. Here are a couple of pictures of progress at the lodge. Our new construction trailer will be on site tomorrow and the rebuilding will continue. It’s so exciting to see 99% of the mud gone from the parking lot and the walls have been removed in the dinning room and office to ready an area for DUCK SEASON GUMBO. Yahoo. I can’t wait to gain another 4 or 5 pounds.
